Jamaica in pictures

Once a year, we typically plan a vacation that takes us outside of the midwest.  This year was originally going to be our year to go backpacking in Yosemite.  Since we also decided to put our house up for sale this year, we figured that the planning involved for the Yosemite trip would be too much.  We pushed that trip out to next year and decided to try an all inclusive trip to the Caribbean.  We wanted to do a joint vacation with my parents and after some research, we decided to go to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica.

A recommendation also helped steer us to Iberostar, and we were not disappointed.  The resort was great, the hospitality was amazing, and there were enough activities to keep us busy well beyond our 5 night stay.

We also decided to try parasailing.  Mom even decided that she would like to try it, despite her aversion to heights and water.

The resort offered several water activities.  We took the opportunity to go for a catamaran ride.

We took our snorkeling equipment with us and used it several times.  The resort has some man made reefs right off the beach that attracted quite a bit of sea life.

One day, we took a cab into Montego Bay to do a little shopping.

Tammy and I also had the chance to do a scuba demo in the resort pool.  I think we may have to try it a bit more extensively in the future.
